Summary

An employe at the Oprah Winfrey leadership academy in South Africa began in July. The employee Tiny Virginia Makopo was accused of beating six teenagers multiple times. She is also accused of beating a fellow matron. She chose to plead innocent on all counts to the charges. The charges include indecent assault, common assault, soliciting a minor to perform indecent acts and verbal abuse. Oprah opened the 40 million dollar school in Jan. 2007 keeping a promise she made to Nelson Mandela to give disadvantaged girls a future.
